Tmloadcf can not run on a Non-Master Node" - Tuxedo (Chinese)

*MACHINES
...

Oracleasm RPMs not available at OTN for Kernel version 2.6.18-155

Hi,
I have installed RHEL5.4, 64-bit. Oracleasm rpms are not present at OTN for kernel version 2.6.18-155.el5 (RHEL 5.4, 64-bit).
I am referring to the following link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/linux/downloads/rhel5-084877.html#oracleasm_rhel5_amd64
Please advise from where to download the packages.
Regards,
Purnima Johari
Hi,
I don't think these packages exists for you Kernel version.
However you don't need them to make ASM instances running..
B.Regards
I would highly recommend going with Linux 5 Update 5
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/pre_install.htm#CHDFFBIF
otherwise try configuring devices manually ....
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e22489/storage.htm#CDEBFDEH
Or consider another storage option.

Hi,
There are some kernel issues whe configuring oraclesm libs
Try this it worked for me.
[root#vclrac3 software]# cd /lib/modules/
[root#vclrac3 modules]# ls -ltr
total 16
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Jan 13 12:35 2.6.18-194.el5
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 13 15:11 2.6.18-194.32.1.0.1.el5
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 13 15:31 2.6.18-194.0.0.0.3.el5
[root#vclrac3 modules]# /usr/lib/oracleasm/oracleasm_debug_link 2.6.18-194.0.0.0.3.el5 `uname -r`
[root#vclrac3 modules]# /etc/init.d/oracleasm configure
Regards,

Hi!
Don't use ASMLib, it will be no longer available, it will only came in Oracle Unbreackeable Kernel for Linux 6.
I'm highly recomend you to use a newr version of Linux such as 5.5 or above.
The easly way to set the permissions on your devices is with a /etc/init.d script that do the job.
Here is an example:
#! /bin/bash
#
# chkconfig: 2345 25 19
# description: Set ASM Permissions on to devices at boot.
#
case "$1" in
start)
/bin/chown
;;
stop)
;;
status)
;;
*)
echo "Usage: $0 {start|stop|status}"
exit 1
esac
exit o
Also, as I concern, the finest way to do this is using UDEV rules, please refer to this url on how to use udev rules:
http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/linux/udev-scsi-rules-configuration-in-oracle-linux-5-and-6.php#create_udev_rules_file
hope it's helps,

Password for User Equivalence

Gurus
whenever i am trying to test connectivity by running this command
ssh node2 date
i am prompted for the password?what are the reasons behind it?
Please suggest
Regards
Nitin
That means you have not set your ssh between the nodes correctly. Here are the steps, you are like:
While logged in as oracle perform the following on each of the nodes of the RAC:
1. cd $HOME
2. mkdir ~/.ssh
3. chmod 700 ~/.ssh
4. /usr/bin/ssh-keygen -t rsa
5. /usr/bin/ssh-keygen -t dsa
On Node 1:
1. cd $HOME/.ssh
2. cat id_rsa.pub >> authorized_keys
3. cat id_dsa.pub >> authorized_keys
4. Copy the authorized_keys file to the node 2. scp authorized_keys node2:/opt/oracle/.ssh
On Node 2:
1. cd $HOME/.ssh
2. cat id_rsa.pub >> authorized_keys
3. cat id_dsa.pub >> authorized_keys
4. scp authorized_keys node1:/opt/oracle/.ssh
Hi Chandra
Thanks for the rep
I am getting the same error again ..i am again being asked for passphrase
[oracle#node2 .ssh]$ ssh node1 date
Enter passphrase for key '/home/oracle/.ssh/id_rsa':
Thu Aug 16 20:32:29 IST 2007
Please help
Regards
As I said, it means that the SSH has not been configured properly. You may like to clean up the files under $HOME/.ssh/authorized_keys, id_rsa.pub and id_dsa.pub on both the nodes and start all over again - following the instructions contained at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b14201/preaix.htm#sthref298
Good Luck
Thanks
Chandra
Thanks Chandra
It worked

tmshutdown -y 出错?

Shutting down all admin and server processes
in /tuxedo/config/tuxconfig
tmshutdown: internal error: CMDTUX_CAT:766: ERROR: must run on master node
tmadmin时有错:
TMADMIN_CAT:202: ERROR: Can not find DBBL on master and backup nodes.
model: shm

How to create new filesystem in OEL 4.5 ?

Recently installed an Oracle Unbreakable Linux 4.5. and now need to add some hard disks..
I very surprised when not found newfs and format commands.
After using fdisk I got an unformatted disk and wonder what to do next!
Could anyone help me to add disks to system?
Edited by: user11115575 on 13.12.2009 20:51
first try fdisk
and then:
[root#laptop ~]# mkfs -help
mkfs.ext2: invalid option -- h
Usage: mkfs.ext2 [-c|-t|-l filename] [-b block-size] [-f fragment-size]
        [-i bytes-per-inode] [-j] [-J journal-options] [-N number-of-inodes]
        [-m reserved-blocks-percentage] [-o creator-os] [-g blocks-per-group]
        [-L volume-label] [-M last-mounted-directory] [-O feature[,...]]
        [-r fs-revision] [-R options] [-qvSV] device [blocks-count]
[root#laptop ~]# not much i can help you because:
1)what format you need to make?
2)put your fdisk -l here and mark out the exact /dev/sdx drive which one is created by fdisk.

Issues with oracle installer UI on SLES11-64bit

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle11gR2 on SLES11-SP1 and am getting issues while running runinstaller. SLES11-SP1 is a vm machine on ESX3.5. We are trying to install using exceed which is running on a Win2003-32 bit box. These are the steps that we have tried ,
1) export DISPLAY=<IP of windows machine>:0.0 on SLES11Sp1 box
2) Started exceed on the windows box
3) Executed ./runInstaller from the SLES11SP1. Installer exexcutes but the UI doesnt come on the windows box.
4) We are able to run the installer on the console , but is very slow and hangs.
SLES11-SP1 machine details:
2 CPU (Virtual )
5Gb RAM.
Any suggestions or tips for this issue ?

Hi;
xclock is working and is displaying the clock on my windows deskop. Did you try to run xclock wiht oracle user also?
Regard
Helios
Yes xclock is working with oracle user. Looks to me as if there is some issue with java on SLES box
install the packages,
make,
gcc-c++-32bit
libstsc++
gcc
libaio
expat
compat
sysstat
and make sure, that you have a JRE version of oracle.
don't forget to export the vars ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_SID
I have all these packages installed and have set the variables as well. regarding jre , i believe oracle installer has a bundled jre along with it ? Do we need to install jre seperately on the SLES box ? If so which version should i use ? Help appreciated .

Amithi think, on SLES, openJava is installed as default.
try to install sun-java package with yast (jre and jdk, you need jdk of sun/oracle too, to configure enterprise manager after install)
and
run the commands as root and select the sun's java, to activate sun java
# update-alternatives --config java
# update-alternatives --config javac
check the symbolic link in /usr/lib64/java.
you may be update your SLES.
good Luck,
