Hi all
When I go to more products and click on BI Publisher, I am getiing following error:
Reporting Login: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file
Kindly need help
Had you recently modified any XML configuration files for BIP or OBIEE? This is usually an error that occurs when the engine references an XML file but cannot fully parse it due to some broker XML syntax structure.
Yes christian, recently i changed XMl file..changed my security model to XDO from BI server..
Did you put XDO in double quotes? Check for that..Also open the xml {OracleBI}\xmlp\XMLP\Admin\Configuration\xmlp-server-config.xml in web browser to see if its corrupted.

Administrator Password Change

Hi,
After changing the default Administrator Password in the RPD, I ran the Cryptotools utility for both BI publisher and BI Scheduler to make sure that the BI Presentation services can identify the CredentialStore.
There is another xml file, xmlp-server-config.xml in the OracleBIData\xmlp\xmp\admin\configuration folder, which has a property name "BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD with its value being the default password for Administrator. The password here is in clear text, not encrypted. Is this how it's supposed to be?
I do not see anywhere in the Docs. where there's an encryption procedure for this file.
I certainly do not want to have this file with the password in clear text.
Has anyone encountered this issue?
Thanks,
rkingmdu
hi..
check the OracleBIData\xmlp\xmp\admin\Security\principals.xml file..
and check this link.. it may useful to you...
http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/04/11/oracle-bi-ee-101332-changing-administrator-passwords-impact-on-bi-scheduler-and-bi-publisher-understanding-impersonation/
Kishore,
The password in the principals.xml file is encrypted... but my question is, why is the password in the xmlp-server-config.xml is in clear text?
I have read the blog by Venkatakrishnan, it talks about the same procedure that's explained in the docs.
rkingmdu
No, the password is not supposed to be in clear text.
It's really funny, I have in my file xmlp-server-config.xml
BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD_ENC
not
BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD
Example :
<xmlpConfig xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xmlp">
   <property name="SUPERUSER_PASSWORD" value="CCFF4E3C707161483D9A322397EA497D23A5D617AC65"/>
   <property name="SUPERUSER_USERNAME" value="SuperUser"/>
   <property name="GUEST_FOLDER" value="false"/>
   <property name="SAW_SERVER" value="host_obiee"/>
   <property name="SAW_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
   <property name="SAW_VERSION" value="v4"/>
   <property name="ENABLE_SUPERUSER" value="true"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD_ENC" value="C832572BA5BE2B1EE9CC4C9B32C62CDF"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
   <property name="DEBUG_LEVEL" value="exception"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_URL" value="jdbc:oraclebi://host_obiee:9703/"/>
   <property name="SAW_SESSION_TIMEOUT" value="90"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_DRIVER" value="oracle.bi.jdbc.AnaJdbcDriver"/>
   <property name="SAW_PORT" value="9704"/>
   <property name="SAW_PROTOCOL" value="http"/>
   <property name="SAW_URL_SUFFIX" value="analytics/saw.dll"/>
   <property name="SECURITY_MODEL" value="XDO"/>
   <property name="SAW_PASSWORD_ENC" value="C832572BA5BE2B1EE9CC4C9B32C62CDF"/>
</xmlpConfig>My configuration process :
http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/bip/configuration_bip
Regards
Nico
Both BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD AND SAW_PASSWORD are in clear text.
Did your xmlp-server-config.xml file have "ENC" suffix when you installed BIP for the first time and integrated with OBIEE?
Because, I took a backup of the xml file before I changed the Administrator password and even the original file does not have "ENC" suffix!!!
I observed this change, some process changing this files when we change the values. But you can try this
Try to change the values from UI, i mean from BIP admin and then check the values. they should be encrypted if you change values from BIP Admin page.

Yes, you're right (not encoded) ...
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<xmlpConfig xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xmlp">
   <property name="SAW_SERVER" value="OBIEESERVER"/>

   <property name="SAW_VERSION" value="v4"/>
   <property name="SAW_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="SAW_URL_SUFFIX" value="analytics/saw.dll"/>
<property name="SECURITY_MODEL" value="BI_SERVER"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_DRIVER" value="oracle.bi.jdbc.AnaJdbcDriver"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_URL" value="jdbc:oraclebi://OBIEESERVER:9703/"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD" value="Administrator"/>
</xmlpConfig>But When I change the security setting in Admin/Security Configuration/Security Model, I obtain this one :
<xmlpConfig xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xmlp">
   <property name="SUPERUSER_PASSWORD" value="BB198AA2C734E2A41B2ADB5600A2C1B31C56DE634CF9"/>

   <property name="GUEST_FOLDER" value="false"/>
   <property name="SAW_SERVER" value="NGERARD"/>
   <property name="SAW_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
   <property name="SAW_VERSION" value="v4"/>
   <property name="ENABLE_SUPERUSER" value="true"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD_ENC" value="5558C0D0CB4782B8795DE6C963D59736"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
   <property name="DEBUG_LEVEL" value="exception"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_URL" value="jdbc:oraclebi://localhost:9704/ "/>
   <property name="SAW_SESSION_TIMEOUT" value="90"/>
   <property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_DRIVER" value="oracle.bi.jdbc.AnaJdbcDriver"/>
   <property name="SAW_PORT" value="9704"/>
   <property name="SAW_PROTOCOL" value="http"/>
   <property name="SAW_URL_SUFFIX" value="analytics/saw.dll"/>
   <property name="SECURITY_MODEL" value="BI_SERVER"/>
   <property name="SAW_PASSWORD_ENC" value="5558C0D0CB4782B8795DE6C963D59736"/>
</xmlpConfig>And don't copy my passwsord ;-)
Success
Nico
I believe when BIP is installed first time, the passwords are not encrypted. As Madan said, when the password is changed using the BIP admin option, then the password gets encrypted. (I have not tried it yet...)
The reason why the password is still in clear text is because, when I ran the cryptotools utility, BI encrypted the password only in the credentialstore.xml file and did not touch the xmlp-server-config.xml.
Thanks

Hi saichand,
Most likely you have ever changed Administrator's password. Just change the combo to Administrator/Administrator under administration window.
A good suggestion is http://obiee-blog.info/administration-tool/how-to-resetchange-the-administrator-password-in-obiee-bi-publisher-and-bi-scheduler/ , which is best practice meeting admin-pass-change request.

Hi Kishore !
I've just already added a few rows in my xmlp-server-config . ( E.g : SUPERUSER ,SECURITY_MODE = 'XDO' ). I tried to log in with SUPERUSER_USERNAME ,password : Administrator but its not working. Dashboards page is displayed but inlogging. Please help me !!
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<xmlpConfig xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/xmlp">
<property name="SUPERUSER_PASSWORD" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="SUPERUSER_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="ENABLE_SUPERUSER" value="true"/>
<property name="SAW_SERVER" value="TIENLAI-DATOR"/>
<property name="SAW_SESSION_TIMEOUT" value="90"/>
<property name="DEBUG_LEVEL" value="exception"/>
<property name="SAW_PORT" value="9704"/>
<property name="SAW_PASSWORD" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="SAW_PROTOCOL" value="http"/>
<property name="SAW_VERSION" value="v4"/>
<property name="SAW_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="ONLINE_TEMPLATE_BUILDER" value="false"/>
<!-- Compress the report output in the database. Default is true -->
<property name="COMPRESS_REPORT_OUTPUT" value="false"/>
<!-- Compress the report data xml in the database. Default is true -->
<property name="COMPRESS_REPORT_DATA" value="false"/>
<property name="SAW_URL_SUFFIX" value="analytics/saw.dll"/>
<property name="SECURITY_MODEL" value="XDO"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_DRIVER" value="oracle.bi.jdbc.AnaJdbcDriver"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_URL" value="jdbc:oraclebi://TIENLAI-DATOR:9703/"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_USERNAME" value="Administrator"/>
<property name="BI_SERVER_SECURITY_ADMIN_PASSWORD" value="Administrator"/>
</xmlpConfig>
Did you add those manually?
Bring back that xml file if you have then enable super user automatically after logging into BI Publisher(I assume that you are able to log into publisher before you make changes to xmlp file)
Sorry . What do you mean Kishore ? I don't understand absolutely .Can you please explain more obviously ?
Thank for all reply .
Now my problem is solved .
My solution :
If we want to log in to Dashboard or BI Administration , then we have to set SECURITY_MODEL" value="BI_SERVER'. Account Administrator/Administrator will work .This is also causing that we cannot log in to BI Publisher .
IF we want to log in to BI Publisher then we have to set SECURITY_MODEL" value="XDO'.

OBIEE BI Publisher Integration

Hi,
I'm getting the following error navigating from OBIEE dashboards to BI Publisher
"06/11/2010 1:16:56 PM XmlPublisherRpcCreateSession processMessageInternal
WARNING: Xml Publisher Login: password was not specified"
I've followed a number of threads and blogs (eg. http://gerardnico.com/wiki/bip/configuration_bip). I have created the 6 BIP functional roles (e.g. XMLP_ADMIN) in the OBIEE rpd and assigned a user to them in the rpd. do I need to create then in BIP?
I would appreciate some help.
Thanks
Phil

Hi,
I followed your blog, the configuration appears to be the correct. I can login directly into BIP as user "administrator" and view OBIEE groups via security>roles.
But I cannot login via OBIEE still.
Thanks
