ISetup Instance Mapping Issue - LCM: Oracle iSetup

Hello -
We installed isetup patches on our production database.
we are trying to configure Isetup instance mapping from our Test instance to our PROD instance.
we are getting following error
Message not found. Application:AZ, Message Name: Oracle.apps.fnd.common.PoolException. Exception creating new Poolable Object.
Appreciate your suggestions on this.

satish

Hi Satish,
Please do the following
1) Copy the latest dbc file of Test and PROD once again under $FND_SECURE directory.
2) Bounce the middle tier.
3) Try again.

Re: DBC Mapping (branched from thread: Welcome to the Oracle iSetup Forum)

Hi,
I'm trying to get the isetup configured. Using vision as the source and blank r12 as target. I have db and admin tier on one server and middle tier on another for both source and target. I copied the dbc file from source middle tier to target middle tier and vice a versa. Still can't get the mapping an instance to work. Is there something that I'm missing? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
We need more information. For e.g. detailed error message.
Are you able to create the mapping to local/current instance? For e.g. If you are logged into Source, are you able to establish mapping using the source dbc file? or is the issue only while mapping the Target?
Where does your $FND_SECURE point to? Usually the error points to the directory where iSetup is trying look up the dbc file. Do you have the dbc files copied to that location?

I have ar,cc,ld,make all in locationKai,
Is the above in the PATH?
What is the error you get when you run adpreclone.pl?
Yes Hussain it is in path.
I didnt get any error when runing preclone..
Thanks
Kai
Kai,
What about the error on the target node? What is exact error message?
Did you compare the PATH setting on the target node with the one on the source node?
Hussain,
Unfortunately am not with the system now.. but I faced the error saying that OS Utlities in path. I checked with the source database, but am facing the same error in the source also ?
any idea ?

Kai,
Most probably it is something with the PATH. Let us wait until you are back to office and see the exact error message. We shall manage to fix it then :)

Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions. Looks like the bash profile for applmgr has been modified to execute "/usrxit/devenv.env" - edit the bash profile to remove this line and try again

Does the file system exist for the application tier node files?

DBCA invoking different ORACLE HOME

Hi All,
I am trying to create a new database with 11.2.0.3 binaries [ which is cloned from R12 (Ebiz) Prod].
But failed due to the dbca invoking wrong OH. I opened the dbca source code[file], the OH parameter value is wrongly defined. I corrected the parameter and i tried but its taking same path again [Wrong one].
If any one please, let me know what are all the files that dbca using while creating the database.
Note: we are facing same problem with remaining utilities.
Please help me to resolve the issue.
Thanks in advance for your valuable inputs.....

Thanks Hussein Sawwan, for your reply.
We are facing same problem with all other utilities [dbua, netca, emca  ....... etc in test server].
FYI, we cloned two instances from prod [ dev and test]. Dev is working fine but we are facing problem with test instance. [we fallowed same process in both].
We have a plan [for testing some other progs] to create one core database in Test Server, while creating the db with R12 Oracle_home [11.2.0.3] dbca utility, we faced this problem.
Note: After that we checked all other utilities and faced same issue.
Please help me to resolve this issue....
Thanks

skjbIf this is a cloned instance, then it must be something with relinking executable files which is done by Rapid Clone. So, instead of creating a new ORACLE_HOME I would suggest you run AutoConfig on your TEST DB server and share the log file with us.

It must be something to do with the oraInventory. I would suggest you recreate the oraInventory and check then (I believe you are aware of the steps so I am not sharing MOS docs here). Thanks,Hussein
