How to develop WebLogic Web services on Eclipse 3.2 and WebLogic Server 8.1 - weblogic.developer.interest.webservices.general(Archived)

Hi,
I am going to involve in a project developing a WebLogic Web service application on WebLogic Server 8.1 SP6 and the IDE is Eclipse 3.2 WTP. I have used Eclipse only to write client application before, so I don't know how to create a Web service project in Eclipse WTP.
There are some tutorials showing how to do that in WebLogic Workshop (Eclipse-based), but in Eclipse 3.2 SDK, things are somewhat different.
I did successfully configure the WebLogic Server 8.1 to work with Eclipse 3.2 WTP and could create some simple dynamic web projects with a few JSPs, servlets, and EJBs.
Can anybody show me how to create a new WebLogic Web service project in Eclipse 3.2 WTP?
Thank you so much.

Eclipse and Deployments on a remote server : How ?

I have Myeclipse 6.0 with the latest (3.3.1 seems to me) Eclipse and a remote Weblogic server 9.2 .
Now , when I deploy a webapp, I have to create a WAR , go to the remote server console, stop the current app, delete it, upload the new WAR, deploy and activate it.
I'd like to speed up this process: does exist some plugin for Eclipse to automatically deploy and redeploy apps on a REMOTE server ?
Tx
Andrea
I am not aware of any existing Eclipse plugin that allows remote
deployment to WLS, however this functionality is being considered for
the next feature release of WebLogic Server Tools for Eclipse. You can
add yourself to the CC list on this enhancement request to keep track of
this feature implementation and voice your opinions.
http://bugzilla.bea.com/show_bug.cgi?id=197
You can find more information about the current release of WebLogic
Server Tools at this website:
https://dev2devclub.bea.com/updates/wls-tools/
Note, however, that WebLogic Server Tools for Eclipse does not work with
MyEclipse IDE. You would need to use Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers
package that can be downloaded from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/.
Any existing MyEclipse projects would have to be re-created.

With "next version" do you mean Weblogic Server tools 2.0.1 ?

https://dev2devclub.bea.com/updates/wls-tools/ganymede/bea-wls-tools-2.0.1.200801220144.zipNo. Version 1.1.2 and 2.0.1 are equivalent in terms of functionality.
They are just made for different base Eclipse platform version, so carry
different version numbers to avoid confusing.

web service deployment to WLS

Hi
I have a need to create a webservice client and deploy that to weblogic.
we use IBM WSAD as the IDE , but uses WLS as the application server.
when I create the web service client using the tools in WSAD , it makes use of websphere specific class/code to access the webservice.
So the deployed code to WLS does not work
Does anyone know the workaround for this?
Thanks
You could download a copy of the WLW Beta and give it a try....
http://wlp.bea.com/wlw%5Fwlp%5Fbeta92/.
This way you would not have to use WSAD.

Thanks for the reply ,
But WSAD is the standard tool we use here)::, so I might have to use weblogic workshop just to make the client created for webservice .
I am new to webservices ,
Does each IDE generates server specific code when creating the client for webservices. Is there anyway to create generic code that can work in any application server.
thanks

I dont see Web Service Facet when using Weblogic 10.0  server

Hello there,
well i set Weblogic 10.2 in my server runtime environments then i create a EAR project and a Dynamic Web Project... i want t use Web Service Facet but is not there :(
If i create a Weblogic Web Services ---> Web Service Project i can not see my Weblogcic 10 target runtime and i can not see my EAR project :(
I really want to do a web service with this... it is possible??
thanx in advance for ur guidance
BTW, when i want to create a WebLogic Web Service i just have the Oracle Runtime... from 10gR3 to 11gR1 Patchet 2
But i work with Bea Weblogic 10.0 MP2
Hello,
Unfortunately that is not currently possible within OEPE. No versions of OEPE support using WLS 10.2 server runtime and then choosing the web service facet.
The web service facet is only available on Dynamic Web Projects when using WLS server versions 10gR3 (10.3.0) and above.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
-Andrew
Thanx Andrew, so what can i do to develop web service in weblogic 10.2 ?? should i do as a usual Dynamic Web Project and put the Weblogic *.jar in the buid path?
Im new in JEE development i just worked
thanx in advance
Yeah,
You should be able to pull in the WebLogic *.jar and web services *.jar from the WLS lib directory into your build path as external jars.
Then you should be able to get around any build errors that might come up.
Build and deployment should work too then.
Let me know if it works or if you need me to test on my end.
-Andrew
And...
Since you already are using 10.2 you'll probably only need to bring in the webservices.jar file.
Also keep in mind that none of our web services wizards will not be active under this scenario.

pageFlows,JPF file is not working in OEPEenvironment of oracle weblogic1033

Hi,
I have some jpf files running fine in bea weblogic 8.1, solaris environment. Now when i am trying to deploy the same jpf file in oracle weblogic server 10.3.3, windows environment, it is not able to run in new environment(weblogic, windows). Environment is treating the jpf file as a text file and displaying the text format of the jpf file in the browser when i hit the application link. Any idea how i would compile the jpf file in OEPE. Also in weblogic 8.1 we have workshop to compile the jpf and there are some xml being generated to serve jsp-servlet-java flow. Now in OEPE, is there any equivalent thing present by which jpf can be compiled and jsp-servlet-java flow can be achieved likewise pageflows in workshop. Is there any other option available to make this jpf runnable in OEPE.
Any suggestions/ideas would be very much helpful.
Many Thanks,
Pralay
Hi,
In Oracle weblogic 10.3.3, workshop supports is not available. But in oracle weblogic 10.3.0 workshop is present. Is there any possibity that if we change our code from bea weblogic 8.1 to oracle weblogic 10.3.0 and then try to run the same code in oracle weblogic 10.3.3. Is a j2ee application supported in oracle weblogic 10.3.0 will also be supported in oracle weblogic 10.3.3.
Any suggestions/ideas will be very much helpful.
Many Thanks,
Pralay

Glassfish and JAX-WS

Hi, using the Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (last version) can I make a jax-ws web service using glassfish 3.2.1???, and how can I do this??
Currently OEPE JAX-WS development targets the WebLogic runtime. However, the JAX-WS spec level development within OEPE should be compliant with glassfish server runtime.
are you suggesting if i compile in OEPE with a WebLogic Server, can I deploy the war file in glassfish???
Yes depending on what else is in your project, but exporting the war and then deploying to glassfish is a possibility.
