OBI EE 10 1.3.3.O - Business Intelligence Applications

I am re installing OBI EE. And when it was installed first we forget the PWD for "OC4Jadmin". Now it is not allwoing to reset. We tried Upgrading directly its not working also. Is there any work around? Please help

Try this. In \OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\config directory you will see a file system-jazn-data.xml. It might be a good idea to make a copy of this in case you make a mistake editing it.
Look inside of it for:
<!-- JAZN Realm Data -->
<jazn-realm>
     <realm>
          <name>jazn.com</name>
          <users>
...
               <user>
                    <name>oc4jadmin</name>
                    <display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
                    <guid>CA3B21F066BC11DCBFCCF364CAAAE165</guid>
                    <description>OC4J Administrator</description>
                    <credentials>{903}ejSKPx8Pi+rm1pvO9s1NNO2PXwAllGn4XUC01iqf0SQ=</credentials>
               </user>
...
and change <user> to <user deactivated="true">:
...
               <user deactivated="true">
                    <name>oc4jadmin</name>
                    <display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
                    <guid>CA3B21F066BC11DCBFCCF364CAAAE165</guid>
                    <description>OC4J Administrator</description>
                    <credentials>{903}ejSKPx8Pi+rm1pvO9s1NNO2PXwAllGn4XUC01iqf0SQ=</credentials>
               </user>
...
This deactivates the oc4jadmin password so next time you start oc4j you will be prompted for a new password which will be encrypted in the <credentials> tag in this file. I have not tried this myself BTW.

OBIEE Installation time password for OC4JADMIN if forgotten what to do?

Hi Friends,
I installed OBIEE in my machine few days back and while installing, it asked for a password for OC4JADMIN which I mentioned and now I have forgotten... but now I am in a fix unable to install the application ( even for uninstalling it is asking ) and also if I try to reinstall - it is insisting the password. Is there a way to come out from this fix?
Please help me
Try connecting to the database and issue an "ALTER USER OC4JADMIN IDENTIFIED BY <new_password>" command
Not sure of the exact syntax, and you'll need to be logged in with an account that has the appropriate privs.
You could also do this with enterprise manager.
I am just wondering how this is related to database. It is a privileged user on the app server.
Hi,
Try this to reset ur password for oc4jadmin
1 Navigate to the D:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\config directory
2 Backup the file: system-jazn-data.xml for restore or later reference
3 Edit the file: system-jazn-data.xml
Locate the following entries:
<user>
<name>oc4jadmin</name>
<display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
<description>OC4J Administrator</description>
<credentials>{903}MMGWnYKcnMKBBOR1LroHHrQpy3zmVbGEohN4aUSjxK4=</credentials>
</user>
and add the XML attribute deactivated="true", as shown below:
<user deactivated="true">
<name>oc4jadmin</name>
<display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
<description>OC4J Administrator</description>
<credentials>{903}MMGWnYKcnMKBBOR1LroHHrQpy3zmVbGEohN4aUSjxK4=</credentials>
</user>
When you next start the oc4j instance using "oc4j -start" the container will re-prompt you for the password and add the newly encrypted password to the <credentials> tag in the oc4jadmin entry.
To start oc4j:
1 Open command prompt by issuing cmd in Run
2 navigate to D:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin
3 say ' oc4j -start'
It was a case of words coming out of my mouth before the coffee went in :)
If you installed it on Windows, go to Start >> Programs >> Oracle Business Intelligence
There you should find an entry that says "Stop OC4J"
Right-click it and click "properties"
The "Target" entry should read something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_08\bin\java.exe" -jar C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\admin.jar ormi://localhost:23791 oc4jadmin oc4jadmin -shutdown force
the first oc4jadmin is the username, the second oc4jadmin is the password that I had supplied at install time.
Hope this helps.

How to Change the Application server control password?

Hi all,
i have installed Soa 10g version 10.1.3.1 , while installing i gave the password as Welcome123 instead of default(welcome1).after installation im not able to login into BPELConsole/ESBConsole/Applicationserver Control..even after restarting the server..
any suggestions on solving this issue!!
thanks,
karthik
Hi,
Are you using standard jazn xml files or are you using any kind of ldap server? If using the default than you can edit the system-jazn-data.xml file in the [ORACLE_HOME]/j2ee/home/config directory. Place the new password in the <credentials> tag of the user you want to reset prefixed with an '!', like:
<user>
<name>oc4jadmin</name>
<display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
<guid>D61FDB40FE1211DBBF70EBB86CCC7752</guid>
<description>OC4J Administrator</description>
<credentials>!Welcome123</credentials>
</user>
After a restart with opmnctl the password will be encrypted automatically. Before editing always backup your files you plan to change!
Kind Regards,
Andre

oracle SOA Suite 10g  oc4jadmin password change

Hi,
we need to change default oc4jadmin user password of SOA Suite 10g
I know we change password system-jazn-data.xml and also through em console.
<user>
<name>oc4jadmin</name>
<display-name>OC4J Administrator</display-name>
<guid>41A2E560C96711DABFD08D3BF8B780C4</guid>
<description>OC4J Administrator</description>
<credentials>{903}4nlfYYDwaqMJipVbGXuS2ce8egfwBPqp</credentials>
</user>
Password change as admin123
<credentials>!admin123</credentials>
We can change password by modifying with EM Console also
Oc4j_soa > Security Providers > Instance Level Security > Realms > Click oc4jadmin and modify password and Return to the Cluster Topology page and restart the OC4J instance
Please let me know if we change password as mentioned above will it effect all the applications(BPEL,ESB,EM,OWSM). I need to change oc4jadmin password for all the applications.

Deepa
Hi,
I have changed password in em console and updated system-jazn-data.xml and i restarted SOA Server and Database and i tried logging through new password to BPEL Console but i got error "No Domains Accessible to the User Logged in"
This issue is jazn.xml file was configured with LDAP previously and it was not updated to xml based authentication after changing to xml then i was able to login to BPEL Console with new password.

OBIEE 11G Start BI Services

Hi ,
When I press Start BI Services , it prompts for a username and password.
I had created boot.properties file and put them into bi_server1 and AdminServer directories.When I started the services I can see that the username and password informations are encrypted.
But when I press Start BI Services , it also prompts for username and password.
When I was reading to forums or blogs I guess that I saw something to by pass this prompt screen.
Can somebody show me how to do this without creating new cmd's.
Thanks...
Hi all,
At last I found the solution.
First of all I had configured StartStopServices.xml.
From the <target name="start_all" tag I had removed get.credentials
my line is like that : <target name="start_all" depends = "wls.admin.start,wls.wait.alive....
and then from the <!--Start the Admin Server --> and <!--Start the Managed Server --> sections
I changed the env key values like that.
<env key ="WLS_USER" value="<my weblogic user name>">
<env key="WLS_PW" value="<my weblogic user password>">
After that when I click on StartBIServices icon everything works fine.

Recovering Enterprise Manager's password

Hello guys,
When we access Oracle's Enterprise Manager through the web, we get the following error messages:
"Repository access failed Root Cause: Password could not be retrieved. Run the application as the same user who installed the application. "
"oracle.ias.repository.schema.SchemaException: Password could not be retrieved. Run the application as the same user who installed the application."
I tried the same user but the password seems to have changed.
Everything started when we changed the Windows SID of our computer(server) using a tool called SYSPREP(to get the system ready for backup). The system automatically restarted and asked for reinstallation of windows 2000, which we did.
Since then, our Oracle Enterprise Manager's password (Username: ias_admin) was not recoverable. I have the administrative privileges for the machine.
Is there any way to change the password for ias_admin? or any suggestions on what should be done to access Enterprise Manager or get the portal running.
We use Oracle9iAS and we have access to the Enterprise Manager in the stand-alone mode.
Hope someone comes up with an answer real quick...
karthik.
Karthik,
If you want to change the IAS_Admin password, you need to delete the <credentials> line associated with ias_admin in the jazn_data.xml file. However, you would need to shut down the EMWebsite prior to doing this.
.Edit the following file and locate the line that defines the credentials property for use the ias_admin user:
%ORACLE_HOME%\sysman\j2ee\config\jazn-data.xml
The following example shows the section of jazn-data.xml with the credentials entry in boldface type:
<realm>
<name>enterprise-manager</name>
<users>
<user>
<name>ias_admin</name>
<credentials>rJqp85BkhFwAyw9ddl0PnFlUBVaWzbfT</credentials>
</user>
2.Remove the entire line that contains the <credentials> property from jazn-data.xml.
3.Enter the following command from DOS Command window:
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\emctl set password reset <new password>
The steps outlined in the previous post work, BUT you have to reboot the machine in order for you to pick up the new password. You can't simply stop/restart the server, because when you try that, it will ask you for the ias_admin password. But a shutdown/restart will work. Been there and survived!
actually, you can do an emctl restart
emctl stop asks for the password, but start and restart do not
