ROWID in Oracle 10g XE - Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)

Hello! I've just installed Oracle 10g XE and I've noticed that ROWID pseudocolumn is null for the rows in the test table that I've created. Does that mean that ROWID is not implemented in this edition. Will it be supported in production releases?

My mistake. I was looking at the wrong column

specifying index with hint in 9i Lite

Is is possible to specify an index in Oracle 9i Lite SQL on the Pocket PC platform? When I try it I get a syntax error. The only hint that seems to work is the "ORDERED" hint that is mentioned in the (not too great) 9i Lite SQL Reference document.
This is what I have tried:
SELECT /*+ INDEX(ORDITEM ORDITEM_IDX) +*/ * FROM ORDITEM
WHERE ...
where ORDITEM is a table with primary index ORDITEM_IDX
Is there anywhere that shows which hints are valid for 9i Lite on Pocket PC?
TIA

Oracle Spatial Error

Sir
We are facing the problem in oracle8i ver. 8.1.5 particular in Oracle Spatial database. Unable to access spatial data through MapInfo message as follows:
Oracle Error: ORA-00942: Tabel or view does not exist
.The project in the Mapcatalog and the USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA are different
when we connect Oracle Client to Server through Oracle *+.  Message as follows:
SP2-0575: USE OF ORACLE SQL FEATURE NOT IN SQL92 ENTERY LEVEL.
We checked for table USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA which is not exist in our database.
Checked the projections in SDO_GEOM_METADTA and MAPINFO.MAPINFO_MAPCATALOG which is same.
Anupam,
The USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA concept is introduced in
Oracle 8.1.6, and I suspect the MapInfo software is also
expecting an 816 database.
Since you are oracle 815, you won't have the
user_sdo_geom_metadata view in your database.
Anyway, you should consider moving to 816/817 as 815 is out
of support now.

I also have the same problem.
If V$options shows false then may be you have Standard Edition. This feature comes with Oracle 8 or 8i Enterprise Edition.

minimum rowid value in the 8i database

Hi,
I am migrating my database from 7.3.2 to 9.2.0.1.
With our sourcecode in Forms 4.5 rowid is used to get first ever row of the table. 000000.0000.0000 is used as a minimum rowid of 7.3 DB. What is the minimum rowid value of 9.2.0.1 DB.
Kedar
what is the goal of getting the minimum row?
