Integration Profile "Last Execution Time" Unchanged - Real-Time Collaboration (Integration Services)(Archived)

I have been struggling with a new Integration profile that does not appear to execute. It is an iPlanet import into the Oracle directory. The "Last Execution Time" remains unchanged, so I don't think the Integration Server is even trying to run it. Is this the proper conclusion? That the Integration Server is not really running?


All System Groups/Services disappeared in ESB Control after redeploy

Hi all,
SHORT: all entries in the "Services" pane of the ESB control have suddenly disappeared.
DETAILED: After a few successful cycles of changing/deploying/running and viewing instances of my ESB service via the ESB control, I redeployed and run the application. The previously successful test I ran did not get a reply from the service. Obviously, this could be either due to me breaking the service with the last change or because of some crash in the SOA Suite. So I tried to get more information via the ESB console but all System Groups and Services have disappeared - the left "Services" pane is empty.
Restarting the SOA Suite does not fix this.
==> any suggestions on what could have happened and how to resolve this without reinstall ? (we don't want this to happen in production, do we ;-) ?)

I ran into similar situation yesterday. Don't know the root cause yet but looks to me like a bug. The last option you can try is resetting the ESB via in esb/bin. Obviously like you said this isn't an option for production environment. Hopefully Oracle have an answer for this.
Chances are, you've solved this already but I had the same problem and managed to isolate the problem to the inability to connect to the Oracle Lite db holding the OraESB schema. To check this, test the database connection from Jdev.
Fixed it as follows:
1. Stop all ESB components using "Stop Oracle Process Manager"
2. Run <Oracle_home>\integration\esb\olite\bin\stop_olite.bat (or .sh)
3. Run <Oracle_home>\integration\esb\olite\bin\start_olite.bat (or .sh)
4. Stop all ESB components using "Start Oracle Process Manager"
If you startup your ESB Console again, you should be able to see all the systems.
If all else fails, run <Oracle_home>\integration\esb\bin\reset.bat (or .sh)
two collegues of mine ran into a similiar problem. Their ESB console seemed empty as well.Until one of them let the console open for about 10 minutes and the services/system re-appeared.
Indicating that when the services do not show up could also be caused by a serious performance glitch or the services are calling external systems which time out.
Another option is to wait for a few minutes and see if your services etc show up again.
I don't know where this performance degradation is coming from though. The only thing I noticed is that the ORAESB schema ( advanced install ) is installing al of its objects in the USERS tablespace and that most ( almost all ) tables do not have any indexes / pk / fk's on them.
Maybe one or two indexes could speed up the ESB repository considerably.
Dave, In the upcoming release is the repository in any way altered? Default tablespace? PK/FK and/or extra indices on certain tables/columns?

nQSError: 36004

We are using version which is generating the nQSError: 36004 dialog. When trying to add a new user to an existing group, error indicates that another member of the group is already checked out or temporarily locked. The "locked" member has no active sessions. In fact, the only active session was the administrator session. But, the admin tool will not add new members to the group until all members are checked out. Stopping and starting a production server everytime this error occurs is not an option. What workaround fixes this problem? 
Use an external table for authentication and authorization. Then you don't have to do this in the Admin tool. Or go to an LDAP and SSO implementation. 
According the documentation, the message "Object #1%ls is already checked out or temporarily locked." is caused by another admin tool running that has the #1%ls object checked out. The recommended response is to undo the checkout from the other administration tool or wait for several minutes, but I cannot find any other session and waiting several minutes (or days) is fruitless. And, there are no accompanying instructions on how-to find or undo the mysterious checkout which in my case had to be owned by the only active administrator, me. Logging on and off does not seem to help. Trying to access the same object as the owner generates the same message. Shutting down the production server may be the only immediate option. 
Ι am just posting this cause I run into the same situation, propably a previous run of Administrator which hung up, "locked" all the objects.
What it worked was restartig the Oracle BI Server service and the Oracle BI Presentation Server service and all the objects came back to normal state.
Just in case someone else faces the same, hope it will help..

Overwriting Deployment & Server Performance

When we try to deploy another version of Project and ProjectUI by selecting the overwrite option, the deployment fails and gives the error "Deployment incomplete, UI project already exists". Any way to overcome this?
We also noticed that the server performance is very slow. we have the recommended hardware for the server but the deployment, workspace, enterprise manager takes a lot of time to load. Are there any specific server performance recommendations that you can share?
When you deploy the composite project from JDeveloper on the 3rd screen in the wizard ("Task Flow Deployment") make sure you place a check in the "overwrite EAR" checkbox up top. I believe that will take care of the "Deployment incomplete, UI project already exists" error. 
Remember that you do not need to re-deploy your UI projects when you redeploy your BPM composite unless they have changed. Save some deployment time!
The first time you open EM, workspace, etc after a server restart, they will be slow as they are compiled but after that they will be pretty quick.
It's hard to talk about performance settings without knowing more about your installation. But, this has been discussed in the forum before. Look back at previous posts with "performance" or "memory" in the search string.

OBIEE 11g Typical issue

Hi All, We are facing some different issues in OBIEE 11g( Administration tab missingAct as functionality missingNot able to see all subject area’sManage sessions missing  Once we found any issue  30 to 40 m later its coming back to normal.We have verified logs on that time don’t see any issues in logs.  Can any one please help on this issue
Can you review your saw server log(sawlogX.log) and check if there are any WARNING/NOTIFICATION/ERROR reported with respect to GUID's , something like GUID not found marking as unknown at backend, GUID mismatch Could you provide some details on your environment setup too is SSL,SSO, HTTP Server and Load Balancer configured in your environment?

The only way to get them back was to wait a while (like your case) or somebody else still having his privileges (we often end up using the weblogic account itself for that task) had to go in the admin page and click on the "reload files and metadata".Didn't investigated further why it happened as there was no time and it wasn't blocking anymore as a workaround existed and it wasn't all the times. Maybe give it a try by closing your session, finding someone who is still admin enough to click on the reload link, and go back to OBIEE.

Scheduled Load Plans not Executing OBIEE 11g/OBIA 10.2.

I have an environment that we have OBIEE 11g/OBIA10.2 functionality installed.  The load plans execute fine when run manually, but when we define a schedule, they don't run.I have tried bouncing the servers, creating the schedule from BIACM, creating the schedule from ODI designer, and of course executing/submitting the schedule, but nothing seems to make a difference.I am not sure of how exactly the scheduler works, but it seems likeA process isn’t running, i.e. the engine isn’t there to wake upand process the schedule request, ORThe process cant see the schedule in the database?, OROr is there an option setting somewhere, that is set wrong that tells it to use an externalscheduler instead of the internal scheduler?Anyone see this issue before?  I have an SR in with Oracle, but was hoping someone in the community might have some ideas on where to look to see what is causing the issue. Thanks in advance for you assistance. Dean
