Using JDBC to create a view on AS400

Hi all, first post here, hope somebody can help. I am accessing an Oracle database via JDBC from an AS400. That all seems to work, but I can't quite do what I need and I'm hoping somebody else has done the same thing elsewhere... What I need to acheive is to create a view on the AS400 which is based on an Oracle table over the JDBC connection. Programs on the AS400 can then reference these views as if they were tables on the AS400. Can anybody help ?? Thanks in advance...
I don't think it's possible

Thanks in advance...Well frankly this place is not relevant for this POST.It could have made sense if you have posted this in any IBM / Oracle technology related forums where you could have got better answers.

connect with visual basic

i don't know how to connect DB with visual basic
can anyone help me?

Thru which u want to cnnect...

Kevin:
There are several ways of doing this.
1) The one with least amount of effort is to use the Data Environment(DE) that comes with VB.This is a click and point way, but it has limitations.
2) You can also hard code your connection using ADO.
I would first try to learn how to do it with the DE, then you can move to other methods.
I can send you more detailed information tomorrow , just let me know. E-mail me at jordi.marti#honeywell.com

Trouble adding records with OLE and VB

Hi All,
I have a newbie question for you....
I am using VB6 to access Oracle 8.1.7 via OLE and am having trouble adding records.
I am doing basically the following...
set oraDyna = oraDBA.createdynaset("select * from products",0)
oraDyna.AddNew
At that point when it runs I get the error...
"OIP-O4117: Not an updatable set."
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks
Dean
