Page Scrolling

hi,
I have page rendering a table whose width is more than the page width, hence the user wants to scroll the page to see the rest of the columns in that table.
The requirement here is while scrolling the user wants the 1st 2 columns of the table to be seen through out the scrolling, ie even after scrolling the 1st 2 columns should be seen in the table along with the rest of the columns.
I have no clue of how to do this. Can any one guide me regarding this.
Thanking you
ri
this might not be possible with what is available. Easy option could be to repeat the columns once every say four columns.
Hi
i have the same requirement,but through OAF i was unable to achieve.so
i did it through JTF and i called the JTF page from OAF.let me know if u need more details.
Thanks
Indira
Can you please post the solution, its a nice to have feature anyway.
Thanks
Tapash
Hi Tapash,
i achieved it through by using CSS.the requirement is something like freeze pane in Excel.i disabled the browser scrolling...and added the scroll bar to the table level and wrote the css to achieve locking the first two columns while scrolling to left or right..
Thanks
Indira
Hi Indira,
Can you explain this in more specific, so that i would implement it. I didnt understand properly of how to do it.
Thank you
ri
Hi,
please go through the following link it has a sample in html ...i think this will give u some idea...
http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/examples/locked-column-csv.html
Thanks
Indira
good one. This should be taken up by OAF as a enhancement.
Thanks
Tapash
Hi Gurus:
is there any success story of this scrolling feature on OAF?
I'm looking this as a critical requirement of our client for advanced Table and Gantt.
thanks for any help/advise
regards, Goa
Does not seem feasible to me, this would need so much manipulation that it can be done in plan jsps which JTT/JTF FWK uses and the handle to which OAF does not give you.
Indira had also used a JTT page for addressing the requirement.
Can you look at using the detail disclosure feature, so that you can avoid the H-Scroll and let the user view the data in single table row.
Thanks
Tapash
Thanks Tapash,
I was afraid of that, so we'll have to suggest another approach (JTT) to the problem.
Just before i dive into JTT, does this have a gantt facility?
any directions where to look for JTT/JTF FWK?...
Appreciate any help/advise

Some guides recently came up in metalink.what do you think of detail disclosure ? that would not resolve the issue ?
how are people from Goa working this late ?
Thanks,
Tapash
Thanks a lot Tapash:
Appreciate your prompt help.
This is a critical point we have to solve ASAP, so thats why we're working so late. Besides we are workin now in the Americas, so no so late here ;)
Yeah i'm looking to the solution you suggested (detail disclosure), TBH new 4 us. We'll let U know.

Hi Tapash:
I checked detail disclosure and seems not a solution for our requirements, client want this in tabular form (as the gantt chart), and a graph like "MS Project".
We will go to JTT path and check what we can do...
Thanks a lot,
Goa
Hello M8's
I found is that JTF is "Oracle CRM Application Foundation"
I've searched for JTT/JTF documentation, also at metalink but all i could get is this 2 docs:
(Implementation Guide) and (Concepts and Procedures)
From where i can download jtf devguide
But can't find any information on the API, or examples to check reaching and limitations of this tool.
Any directions/advises is highly appreciated.

add text by column on a gantt chart, below time bar

We know It is possible add text to the right or left of the time bar (marker) in a gantt chart. but we need add text by row (Master/Detail rows) and column (period of time) below the time bar.
For example a gantt chart of "Master/Detail", each "Detail" have supplies for each period of time, and we want to display the supply "quantity" below the bar at each period of time the task is active.
Is it possible to do this?, any orientation/suggestion will be much appreciated
regards
well after some investigation and questions to some colleagues, and metalink, this function on gantt charts is not supported, hope some later version can handle this request :)

Please Anybody help on this.
It's Urgent requirement to me please help somebody
I think it will be easier to make your query/view a lot faster than implement a progress bar which can indicate how long the user has to wait.

Using Carl's example above, just create a redirect function like
function html_url_Progress(pThis){
  $x_Show('AjaxLoading');
  window.setTimeout('$s("AjaxLoading",$x("AjaxLoading").innerHTML)', 100);
  //doSubmit('APPLY_CHANGES');
  redirect(pUrl);
} and your link would be like <a href="javascript:html_url_Progress('www.google.com');">click-me</a>
