Oracle Reports 6i on Windows98  and IBM DB2 on AIX - Reports

Hi,
I have installed Open Client Adapter and ODBC and ODBC connects
to DB2.
When I connect to DB2 with Sql*Plus , I am just able to connect
but I get this message also.
Do I need to run some scripts that creates data dictionary views
for Oracle Tools to connect to Non-Oracle Datasource (in my case
it is IBM DB2 on AIX )?
Thanks

Hi,
Are you using LDAP.ora instead of TNSNAMES.ora to connect to Repository from Design Editor.
Presently Designer does not support using LDAP.ora for user authentication.
Only sql*net connections using TNSNAMES.ora are supported and certified.
Regards,
Wilson.
No. We are using tnsnames.ora. There is no file LDAP.ora on my machine.

upgrading from 8i to 9i on Redhat 7.2

Hello,
i want to upgrade a Oracel 8.1.7 Datebase on redhat 7.2 to 9i Release 2.
I've sucessfully installed 9i in another directory without a database (software only).
(please have a look at Re: .NET 2.0 ::: ORA-06521: PL/SQL: Error mapping function
After that i started the Database Upgrade Assistant (dbua) which give me some errors (ORA-01012).
I copied the old initrow.ora and orapwrow (row is my SID) to the new &ORACLE_HOME/dbs/ directory which fixed the probblems.
I can now start the listener and dbstart works also, but i cannot connect to the db. I have to run the script utlnchar.sql to convert my NCHAR columns:

Does anyone have any idea why connecting as system/s#obdc:polite would give the results above? I think the database is fully patched and my ODBC drivers are up to date. I've checked and ODBC administrator knows about POLITE. I'm totally stuck. Any ideas?

Trying to Connect to Reports 6i/NT Developer to SQL Server 7 using ODBC

I am trying to connect Reports 6i Developer on NT through ODBC to SQL Server 7 (on same NT machine), and get an error message:
ORA00022: invalid session id; access denied.
When I try connecting using SQL*Plus, I get the following message:

-------------------
SQL> select * from authors;

Even with a DESC command is run, I can connect, but with an error as follows:

SQL> desc authors
ORA-00022: invalid session id; access denied

AU_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(11)

ODBC Drivers used: I get the same results in Reports 6i and SQL *Plus with the Intersolv/Merant or Microsoft ODBC drivers for SQL Server. (Merant Version 3.7 for 32-bit SQL Server 6, 12/1/00)
Please HELP.
harry,
i am assuming you are using 6.0.8.8 of reports6i, which is base-release. there have been problems withthe OCA in this version. by using the latest patch you should solve this problem. for further details, please contact oracle support services.
regards,
the oracle reports team
I have Reports 6i Release 2 installed (Version# Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3). Is there a patch or later release than that? Where can I find it?
Thanks
